Oranges in the jungle

I sat down with the intention to paint a picture of oranges (or, rather, to copy the photo of oranges we were given, which was the assignment for our watercolor class), and here is the result

I photographed the painting a bit late in the day, which might be why it looks a bit muddy in parts. But then I noticed the effect of shadows and light filtered through some tree branches, and realized an entirely new image had formed–
